I approach therapy from a place of deep and non-judgmental curiosity, seeking to understand each unique person’s experiences, strengths, identities, and challenges. I believe that we all have the tools we need to heal and my job as a therapist is to help individuals learn how to access and use those tools. I also believe that the therapeutic relationship can provide an enormous source of healing and growth. If you decide to work with me, I will help you understand how you were shaped by traumatic or challenging experiences in your past, identify strengths and strategies that allowed you to survive, and explore how those strategies might change to better fit the life you are now living.

I specialize in helping people heal from the impact of relational trauma. I also work with those who experience anxiety, depression, dissociation, and struggles with attachment and relationships. I help people process the impact of living with experiences of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, fatphobia, and other oppressive systems.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois. I received my B.A. from Bryn Mawr College in 2001 and a Ph.D. in English with a focus on Queer and Gender Studies from UC Davis in 2011. Upon moving to Champaign-Urbana, I decided to pursue work that better aligned with my passions and received a Master of Social Work from UIUC. I have worked in a variety of settings providing trauma-informed therapy for adults since 2016.
